THEORY OF LITERATURE

Each file (.mp3 format) is a brief example of one of Adorno’s original compositions (our music library has a more full selection).  You might also read up on twelve tone compositions, Arnold Schoenberg, and Alban Berg.  One of these files, however—you have to guess which one—is not an Adnorno composition at all, but the song “Summertime Blues” by Eddie Cochran (music and lyrics available on the Adorno images page).  Compare and contrast (this is comparative literature, after all).  This may be on the final.

And for all that work, here’s a picture of Adorno in his swimsuit.  Heiß, heiß, heiß!
