	The Bands with two Canon & the 
Life guards went & played at 
Gov Cummings & Wilsons & pres. 
Young's. In the first Start the 
horses atached to one of the Cannon}

{Ran away & threw off} 3 {men & hurt 
them considerably.  
I spent a short time in the Office

some of the Mormon boys added} 
20 {ft to the pole at Hartnetts & put 
it up again & told them if they wished
to cut [[up]] it down again they could 
do so but it would grow} 20 {ft every 
time. Gov Cummings Cursed hartnett
for having the pole cut down  
	I spent most of the day at

Evening at office where a meeting 
was held on the policy of adopting 
some system of furnishing our own 
goods, instead of buying goods of the 
Gentiles merchants at their high prices
